American Idol: Top 12 Revealed

Tonight was the big reveal of the Top 12. There were alot of tears and disappointments and just as many cheers. The final 12 wasn’t completely what I thought it was gonna be but im pretty satisfied. On the girls side I’m fine with Lily and Katelyn going home not really a big let down at all. Lily was good but was overshadowed by the other girls. Katelyn I could care less about and pretty happy to see her go with them weird performance faces that freak me out. As for the guys I felt that even tho I don’t care for Todrick like that I still would rather have to seen him make it rather than Tim Urban, I mean he didn’t even do that good last night! Plus he boring and I don’t like him lol. But moving along… also tonight I have to say the contestants did a great job on Michael Buble’s “Haven’t Met You Yet”. Yall gone head! Thats my song! Oh and we got treated to a duet by last season’s Matt Giruad and Scott Macintrye, which I could done without. But hate it or love this is our Top 12 and next week the contestants will be performing the songs of the Rolling Stones, this should be interesting.

American Idol: Guys Night March 10th

WOWWW way to go guys! Tonight I was finally entertained after weeks of boredom! Everyone really did a great job. What Im starting to find out is that sometimes no matter how good the contestants do the judges still be hating…im like yall just talkin for no reason. Especially Kara what the hell do she be talking bout! She be giving confusing advice and sometimes she has no idea of what is really goin on, thank God Simon is there to get her together. But this is how it went down tonight… Lee Dewyze sang the #1 hit “Fireflies by Owl City. I think he did a great job but my issue with him is that he doesn’t stand out at all I mean just now recognizing him after all this time. Next it was Alex “The Mullet’ Lambert, crazy but I really like this go. He can really sing and his image including the freakin mullet fits who he is as an artist and I think he will be around for awhile. Tim Urban covered “Hallelujah”…he actually did a good job but Im not sure if it was such a great idea to do that song being that it has been covered so many times by different artists in the recent months and they have all killed it. Him singing it is just gonna make everyone compare his to the other versions. Poor Andrew Garcia, he was a hit with remaking “Straight Up” and now he just can’t live up to the hype of that performance. Im not really sure what else he can really do he has tried to recreate a similiar performance with “Genie in a Bottle” but it didn’t work. Hope he gets another chance to work it out cause the guy is really talented. Not much to elaborate on with Casey besides the fact that the guy would make a good artist already and he always delivers. Aaron Kelly always does great too, think he needs to learn some moves and just stop swaying back and forth but besides that he’s good. And he does not need to listen to stupid Kara!!! Well well Todrick I have to admit I actually liked you tonight. Still not impressed but it was good, just wish he would stop turning every song into R&B. Lastly Big Mike. I think he did fantastic but not enough to move me to tears! What is up with Kara is she on meds or something I mean she was deep in the moment too. You mean to tell me after all the great singers and performers that have been on Idol and this one has you ballin! Man the hell up! Anyway tonight the guys made the girls look like crap plain and simple. Tomorrow night is elimination and this is the big one cause your Top 12 will be picked!

American Idol: Girl’s Night March 10th

Great another lackluster night of Idol. I don’t know what they gonna have to do to make the show entertaining again. Maybe the producers need to step in and tell the contestants to pick better songs or something. But anyway here we go. First of all Katie just is not stepping up like I know she can and its pretty hard to watch. She has done all that the judges suggest but its not working. Maybe she needs somebody to help her with artist development because she has the natural talent she just doesn’t know what to do with it. Siobhan Magnus I just don’t get her I don’t understand why the judges rave on and on about her but to me she is a good singer but boring. Lacey Brown I don’t even feel like commenting on, she just needs to go home plain and simple. Katelyn Epperly gives the most wierd performance faces I have ever seen and she really think she be killing it but dont be doin nothin! So sad…DiDi was my fav of the night. I love her voice and she def needs to stick to these type of song selections and never ever do what she did last week again! For Paige Miles I felt the same way Randy did. I mean she really messed up a good song like “Smile”. Don’t understand cause she really can sing but she never does anything good for songs. Crystal Bowersox is ready to win! She always comes out and delivers like she is already an artist and she is just performing her new single. The others need to sit back and watch how she do it. Lilly Scott is the one girl who I often forget but she is good too, i mean not as good as Crystal but good. She is just very forgetable and needs to find a better way to stand out. Overall not too bad of a night but damn I’m still waiting to be blown away! Oh well lets just see what the guys gonna do tomorrow.

13 Years Ago Today…Who Shot Ya?

Its surreal to me that 13 years ago today, I was riding in the car on the way to school with my mom and all over the radio were the reports that rapper Notorious B.I.G was gunned down. This was a blow to the community of Brooklyn, the rap game, and just music in general. Even at a young age I knew how major his death was. Even today, 13 years later, we are still quoting his music, still feeling the effects of his death like he died yesterday, and still asking…who shot ya?

National Womens Day

Happy Womens Day to all my strong, independent, focused women! It may be a MANS world, but it took a WOMAN to get you here!

by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing of my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

J-Kwon Speaks On Being MIA

Rumors surfaced last week about rapper J-Kwon being missing and his family and friends were very worried.  You may remember J-Kwon from the “Tipsy” track years ago, that was about it for his career. I’m guessing this was a shot to the spotlight…I’m not sure…
