The Box Office Hustle!!!

This week we have two exciting new titles coming into the countdown.  Additionally, the surprise hit of the season is still lingering within the top three spots.  Let’s go to the movies!!

One of the biggest hits of the season continues to be “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock.  With it’s wit, charm, humor and inspiration it is easy to see why.  The film is directed by John Lee Hancock, who is a modern day master of the inspiring sports film.  His credits include “Remember the Titans” and “The Rookie”.  This is a film for the whole family.  If you haven’t seen it, what are you waiting for?  The film is rated PG-13 for a brief scene of violence, with some drug and sexual references.

Easing into the number two spot is “Invictus” starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon.  This will be a real Oscar contender and with Clint Eastwood behind the reigns an Oscar is almost a sure thing.  “Invictus” tells the story of how Nelson Mandela united his country.  This is the perfect story of coming together for a common goal that will make us stand up and cheer.  I am looking forward to seeing it.  The film is rated PG-13 for brief strong language.

Finally, this weekend will bring “The Princess and the Frog” to the number one spot.  This a return to tradition for Walt Disney Studios.  It has been years since a theatrical release of the traditional animation that audiences grew to love.  I certainly hope they don’t stop here.  PIXAR is good and all, but I’ve always feared that Disney had abandoned it’s true niche.  I am hoping to see more of these films in the tradition of “The Lion King” and “Beauty and the Beast”.  This film shall easily take in around $25 million.  This film is rated G.  All audiences are welcome.

There you have it folks.  If I’m lyin’, I’m dyin’.  You have plenty of good stuff to choose from this weekend.  Indeed, the quality of cinema has returned and just in the nick of time.  See you next week.  Until then, GO GET HUSTLED!!!
