The Box Office Hustle

jonathanboxofffice copy

Welcome ladies and gentlemen.  This is your humble and extremely sexy (do you get the irony there?) Box Office Hustle correspondent.  I’m down here in my basement filming a video…the subject of which is none of your concern.  I decided to step away from the whips and chains…I mean…the camera to give you guys the BOX OFFICE HUSTLE OF THE WEEK!!!!  Let us begin.

The Men Who Stare at Goats will roll in this weekend at third place.  This film is the story of a secret military operation that is seeking to create a type of “psychic warfare”.  One talent is the ability to kill goats by merely staring at them.  Although the film is inspired by a true story, the movie is intentionally comedic and should be a lot of laughs.  It also boasts one of the best casts seen in a movie this year including the talents of George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey, to name a few.  This film has a lot to offer in the comedic genre and should do very well through the weekend.

Coming in at number two at the box office this weekend is “The Fourth Kind”.  This film centers around an Alaska town whose citizens are experiencing strange and often frightening phenomena.  The phrase “fourth kind” refers to alien abduction.  The trailer for this film looks really creepy and people are going to go see this movie with the expectation of being scared out of their minds.  This isn’t E.T. so parents should be strongly cautioned.  Since people have not gotten Halloween out of there system yet film should rake in a lot of dough.  Since I am a fan of the horror genre I will be seeing this movie for sure.  Maybe I’ll see you there.

And finally, your Box Office Hustle of the Week is “A Christmas Carol”.  Unless you’ve been living under a rock for your entire adult life, you pretty much know the storyline.  It is the timeless Charles Dickens’ classic about redemption.  Ebenezer Scrooge is given one last chance to change his “humbug” ways, or suffer an afterlife of torment and misery.  This film garners several strengths.  First, it has the backing of “Disney” which has had the ability over the years to attract a wide audience of old, young and the young at heart.  The character of Scrooge (and many other roles) is played by Jim Carrey, who has always enjoyed a loyal fan following (including yours truly).  And finally, it is a story that everyone knows and loves and always comes back to.  This film should enjoy great success (and $$$$$$$) over the weekend.

So there you have it folks.  This is certainly a flawless article filled with wisdom and enlightenment.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go turn my camera back on.  Until next time, enjoy the weekend and GO GET HUSTLED!!!!!!!
