American Idol:R&B/Soul Night

Tonight was another great night of Idol. The theme of the night was Soul/R&B which is one of my fave themes. And they brought out Usher to mentor the contestants. I was really surprised how good Usher was at mentoring the contestants. Man he gave some great advice and it really improved the performances. First up for the night was Siobhan… She chose to sing “Through the Fire”.She only did decent and she was like so freakin pitchy it was crazy, then of course she did that annoying scream at the end of the song. Im sooo glad Simon finally called her out for it! Next up was Casey and he performed “Hold On”…once again he brought out the electric guitar which is very distracting from his song. Man find something else to do, shock us please! Big Mike had one of the best performances of the night. He sang the great “Ready for Love” by India Arie, and man he did good! Have to say I did hate the cut away of the audience waving their hands which made it look so lame. But still good nontheless. Didi who I really liked got tore apart. I just don’t think people get her or something cause she is good and her voice is very unique. Yeh she is old fashion a bit but dang leave her alone lol. Tim Urban who I can’t stand at all really messed up Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love”. It reminded me of some kind of lounge singer and he just looked all weird when he was looking in the camera. But moving along…Andrew once again recreated another hit from a song. He did an acoustic version of Chris Brown’s “Forever” and it was good. Poor Katie, how is she supposed to get any better if even the judges don’t even know what advice to give her! I mean I understand what Simon is saying about her being a country singer but the girl is clearly R&B and Pop. Hopefully she can get it together on her own because she is super talented, she just lacks the right direction to use it. Lee is somebody I keep forgetting about but after tonight im seeing him as somebody that could be a potential winner. He naturally is a rocker and he really has a good voice. Crystal Bowersox to me is already an artist. She knows what her image should be and what her genre is and everything. She always delivers and what she did with “Midnight Train to Georgia” was crazy! Lastly was Aaron, he was average and why in the world did you chose a song that has been song so many times on this show and plus song better by more talented artists. Still tho he will be okay like I said he can actually sing just had a bad night. Well time to see who had to hit the road this week folks, and it was………………………DiDi! Not saying it was a major shocker being that the judges basically condemned her to death with all the negative remarks. But still im rather pissed cause I hate it when people don’t give an artist that is really good. So DiDi im here I understand LMAO! Anyway enough jokes lol thats all from me until next week!

Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce-Telephone (official Video)

Lady Gaga and Beyonce have teamed up once again for their new single “Telephone”. Personally I’m not impressed, but its ok because my girl India Arie wasn’t feeling it either. She took to her Twitter account to relieve her frustration with the video:

I agree gaga is being her image .. I dig her creative mind But still … There’s a such thing as socially irresponsible… I’m just sayin.

Its not long before somebody does a straight NAKED video. Not like Alanis morrisette “thank you india” like NAKED dancing around. LOL hahaha

Let’s be CLEAR! I know it gaga M.O. – I don’t live under a rock. And I get that a lot of work put into it. I’m talking social responsibility

There’s an artist ever 10 years who pushes the envelope … but its bout to fall off the Table. When is it too far?

I respect the creative mind but disagree with the “choices” as a dish meant to be served for mass consumption ..

Crazy to me that the Dark, underbelly, so shock at all cost thing is a TREND like asymetrical hair and big shoulder jackets .Slippery slope!

Love life. 6 year old at the store old her mom say who’s your favorite singer

This girl is CUTE! She says “india arie” “aaaaaand?” Her mom prompts her she says “beyonce “aaaand” her mom says again “Lady gaga”

Mom turns to me and says “but I won’t let her watch the “telephone” lolhahahaahha! Haha! Tooo Funny.

Anyway…you be the judge. Are we REALLY feeling TELEPHONE???

Buzzin: G-State of Mind

Not every female in the rap game has a sexy image and lyrics to match that make it easier to grab attention. Not to say I do not appreciate a sexy woman, but it is irrelevant to the artistry of being an “emcee.” Yet, there are women in the game who relied on what they had to say as their means of connecting with their audience. Artists such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Nikki Mcknight aka Terror are those type of artists.

Terror, a proud representative of Columbus, Ga has been in the rap game for some years now and ready to make her presence known. Her latest LP, G-State of Mind is an exhibition of who and what Terror is all about. The majority of the album is definitely uptempo and for those who know about the streets. Tracks such as “Break Em Off” and “If They Hatin” serve as disclaimers to Terror and her attitude towards haters and anyone who does not respect what she represents. “Gangsta” is a package deal anthem and club banger that is self-explanatory. However, Terror does aim to show that a G’s state of mind is not limited. “How I Feel” is an in depth song that the artist is both honest and humble on some experiences she has dealt with from lack of success to being on the streets not knowing where she would sleep that night.

G-State of Mind is definitely buzzworthy and definitely deserves a thorough listen! To listen to the 12 track LP, visit Terror’s myspace at

Rocko & Monica…DONE!

It pains me to even have to write this. I don’t know why I’m so emotionally attached to this break up, but it probably has to do with the fact that I NEVER saw it coming. Monica and rapper ex-fiance Rocko have called it quits. As soon as the word leaked all types of rumors started swirling the airwaves. Here is Monica’s Twitter released statement:

“Thank u everyone for all the love your sending. @Rocko4Realis a great father and we will continue to love and parent our children. The Rest is a private matter between @Rocko4Real and I. He is a good person. We all make mistakes. Even separated we will always be family.I say thank u again to u all. And as I live and learn I grow. Don’t feel sorry for me just pray for me. Gods got it. Have a great day.

No one knows for sure what truely happened but we wish the two nothing but the best.

Buzzin:”I’m Back”

Okay, I think I have given the world long enough to checkout TIP’s comeback record “I’m Back”. Hot record? Banger of the summer? None of the above. From the production to the lyrics, the song lacks that comeback feel of being  a banger. Not to say it isn’t a good record, but it is a typical record that would have been a filler on Urban Legend or TI VS TIP. Of course it has generated the hype, but it doesn’t have the same buzz that his gansta grillz mixtape that ended Lil Flip’s career. Not the royal grand return we expected from the King, hopefully hr has something better to offer us!
